Motion compensated reconstruction for free breathing dynamic constrast-enhanced MRI

چکیده
INTRODUCTION: In contrast-enhanced MRI, medical diagnosis is often compromised by the motion, the need for registration and the difficulty of sustaining a breath-hold. A previously published motion correction algorithm GRICS (Generalized Reconstruction by Inversion of Coupled Systems) [1] has proven to correct for motion artefacts successfully in images acquired with a wide set of sequences, though restrained to images without global or local contrast change. Dynamic contrast-enhancement (DCE) GRICS generalizes GRICS with the purpose of taking into account local contrast changes and performing free-breathing motion correction in contrast-enhanced MRI.

Motion compensated reconstruction for thoracoabdominal dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI in free-breathing
INTRODUCTION The analysis of abdominal and thoracic dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI is often impaired by motion-induced artifacts and misregistration, caused by physiological motion. Breath-holding is too short to cover these long acquisitions and suffers from imperfections. A previously published reconstruction algorithm, GRICS [1], corrects for motion-induced artifacts in a single image reconst...
متن کاملMotion Estimated-Compensated Reconstruction with Preserved-Features in Free-Breathing Cardiac MRI
To develop an efficient motion-compensated reconstruction technique for free-breathing cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that allows high-quality images to be reconstructed from multiple undersampled single-shot acquisitions. The proposed method is a joint image reconstruction and motion correction meth-od consisting of several steps, including a non-rigid motion extraction and a motion-...
متن کاملFree Breathing Dynamic Contrast Enhanced 3D MRI with Resolved Respiratory Motion
PURPOSE: Respiratory motion is a major issue in abdominal MRI, especially for pediatric patients who have difficulty performing breath-holds. The problem is exacerbated in lengthy scans, such as for dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI. Much of the previous work has been focused on reducing respiratory motion artifacts through reconstruction correction schemes. An alternative approach is resolvi...
متن کاملMotion compensated reconstruction from free breathing 2D radial cardiac MRI data
Background Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is affected by both cardiac and respiratory motion. While ECG-gated imaging within a breath hold is often the method of choice to limit motion-related artifacts, free-breathing methods are favorable in patients with limited breath hold capability. Free-breathing approaches require either rapid singleshot scans to reduce respiratory motion arti...
متن کاملMotion corrected compressed sensing for free-breathing dynamic cardiac MRI.
Compressed sensing (CS) has been demonstrated to accelerate MRI acquisitions by reconstructing sparse images of good quality from highly undersampled data. Motion during MR scans can cause inconsistencies in k-space data, resulting in strong motion artifacts in the reconstructed images. For CS to be useful in these applications, motion correction techniques need to be combined with the undersam...
